Trees to be removed on Council land
Parks, Reserves and Tracks
Later this week, the Central Otago District Council will be removing a strip of pine trees alongside the Clyde-Alexandra highway (SH8).
These trees front onto the Ngai Tahu Properties Limited (NTP) proposed subdivision between the Alexandra Golf Course and Molyneux Estate.
NTP has already removed trees to make way for works, and this poses a risk for destabilising the remaining pine trees on the Council-owned land in the event of high winds.
Council is taking the opportunity to use the same contractor as NTP while they are on site to keep the costs down.
