Clyde property visits to assess wastewater systems
14 November 2019
CODC contractors will visit properties in central Clyde over the coming weeks to assess existing wastewater systems and septic tanks.
The site visits are an important part of the preparatory work for the installation of Clyde's new wastewater system which will get underway in autumn next year.
"There's a whole range of factors to consider when installing a new reticulated wastewater system for a town such as Clyde. We need to make sure we understand as best we can the detail of each property and how it fits into the new reticulated system," said CODC Capital Projects Programme Manager Patrick Keenan.
"Our goal is to get the most effective and efficient outcome for individual property connections to the new wastewater system," he said.
Contractors will display identification to show who they are and where they are from and that they are authorised to carry out the assessments.
They won't need to go inside dwellings but will be outside on properties assessing factors such as the location of a septic tank and specific ground levels.
Site visits are expected to take only a short amount of time to ensure as little disruption or inconvenience to residents as possible.
More than 150 properties in the central Clyde area will be assessed as well as some additional properties beyond this area.
"Our contractors will be visiting these additional properties as part of an assessment of how wastewater mains lines will be installed."
CODC will directly advise owners of properties where assessments may be done via a letter in their mailbox.
