The Ranfurly Wastewater Renewal work has been completed, with the
cost savings from the $1.4 million project to be used to replace additional
sections of pipeline in Knowles Crescent.
It was a pleasing outcome to the
project, Central Otago District Council Capital Projects Programme Manager
Patrick Keenan said.
“Thanks to the collaborative
efforts between the contractor and the Council, coupled with innovative
construction methodologies proposed by the contractor has resulted in some cost
savings.
"That means we can utilise these
savings to replace another section of the old pipeline in Knowles Crescent
(picture below), which is also in poor condition.
“This additional work will
further enhance the pipe network and the treatment plant operation for the town
of Ranfurly.”
The planned work is scheduled to
start mid-June and continue through to
the end of July.
There will be some traffic
disruptions in Knowles Crescent during this period, and the team will work
closely with residents to ensure they have access to their properties.
Updates of any changes to the
schedule will be provided as required.
“Thank you for your
understanding and support as we improve our community's infrastructure,” Mr
Keenan said.
