Tourism Central Otago (TCO) is the Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) for Central Otago.

The role of TCO is to coordinate and facilitate the management and marketing of Central Otago as a visitor destination for the benefit of our communities. This work is guided by the Central Otago Destination Management Plan (DMP), which outlines the aspiration of our communities and mana whenua for how tourism can enrich our communities across the four well-beings.

The plan takes a 50-year horizon with a 10-year and a 12-month plan. The DMP has this ambition:

When visitors experience our world, sharing a moment with our people and our places, they become an extension of our community – loyal advocates and believers in our causes and our dreams for generations to come. We know this as whanaukataka – or kinship – and we believe that it is by creating this strong sense of connection and common purpose that tourism can make a lasting difference.
