ROADING UPDATE - Wednesday 27 September 2023
We're removing the 4WD restrictions on the roads around Omakau: they have had a grade to remove the worst of the water damage and scouring, with more repairs planned.

ROADING UPDATE - Tuesday 26 September 2023
The Nevis Road will remain closed until 13 October due to weather damage and a land slide across the road.
The road will be opened prior to this date if repair works are completed sooner.

- Danseys Pass Rd – OPENED – (from the gates past the Danseys Pass Hotel)
- Nevis Road – CLOSED – Flooding at bridge no.6 at 17.5 km, Traffic Management set up at the start of the Nevis Road.

- Clouston Road – RESTRICTED 4WD – due to surface flooding
- Donnelly Road - RESTRICTED 4WD – due to surface flooding

ROADING UPDATE - Friday 22 September 2023 - early morning
Rain continues to fall across the region and is expected to continue throughout today. Caution is advised as areas surface flooding and debris to be expected.
CROMWELL
- Swann Road – OPEN – caution advised; following heavy overnight rain, surface has been reinstated to a serviceable level but does have loose gravel in areas. A reminder to reduce your speed as there are numerous areas with surface flooding throughout the network (update - 11am - open to all vehicles).
- Pisa Moorings Road, significant undermining of the road surface has occurred, and multiple utility assets are exposed. Traffic Management PRIORITY GIVEWAY from 6.30am, this will be in place to allow access for essential services and residents only. This site is dynamic if the situation worsens a full closure will be reinstated. Please stay out of flood waters and outside of the road closure barriers.
ALEXANDRA
Dunorling Street, Alexandra - flood bank closure: Fulton Hogan has temporarily closed access to the river from the top of the flood bank due to high river level.
Due to the current weather event the Alexandra-Clyde trail is now closed. When the river subsides, we will re-evaluate on an opening.
BANNOCKBURN
- Nevis/ Bannockburn Road intersection CAUTION debris and surface flooding.

ST BATHANS/NASEBY/OMAKAU
Snow is falling the St Bathans and Naseby areas, caution advised.
- Danseys Pass Rd – CLOSED – (from the gates past the Danseys Pass Hotel) due to snow and ice. (Update - 1pm)

UPDATE - ROADING CONDITIONS NEAR OMAKAU - 3.05pm
- Glassford Road (Drybread) – CLOSED – at 9.7 km by Bridge 76, due to large willow tree across the road. Crew and plant on the way to remove, will update when cleared (photo of location bottom of post).
UPDATE - 5.37pm
- Glassford Road – OPEN – the tree has been removed and road is clear.
