With summer officially only a couple of days away it is great to see more people out and about enjoying the Alexandra Airport walking and biking tracks.
However, we have received reports of near miss incidents with aircraft at the airport involving bikers and dog-walkers being too close to operational areas such as active runways and taxiways.
So please take note of the following when using the Alexandra Airport Reserve:
- Do not walk or bike on the red shaded areas on aerial map below.
- Do not use motorbikes on the Alexandra Airport Reserve except on the designated motorbike track area, shown highlighted in yellow on map below.
- Only use tracks or trails outside the red areas which are open for public access
- Watch out for signs that say no public access
- Always have your dog on a lead: Dogs must be always under verbal or physical control to ensure they do not enter operational areas.
If you know of anyone who uses the Airport track for motorbiking, walking, biking and/or exercising their dogs, please pass on the message to stick to permitted tracks and stay away from operational areas of the airport.
Thank you
