​E kī! E kī!

An important step for the relationship between mana whenua and Central Otago District Council occurred on Tuesday (12 July 2022) when the first Partnership Agreement between Council and local rūnaka, represented by Aukaha, was signed at Alexandra’s Whakaruruhau.

We already know how invested we both are in the wellbeing of our whenua (land) and communities, now and into the future, and now we commit to walking the path together towards delivering outcomes that achieves it.

It is an honour to be on this journey with our mana whenua partners at Te Rūnanga o Moeraki, Kāti Huirapa Rūnaka ki Puketeraki, Te Rūnanga o Ōtākou, and Hokonui Rūnanga.
