The Central Otago District Council has identified some dangerous trees for removal on the Alexandra to Clyde River Track.
The trees are located on the Clyde side near the Marshall Road entrance to the track. Removal will take place on Tuesday 2 August 2022 between 8am and 12pm. The trees have split and are leaning over the track, and therefore pose a safety hazard to users.
A site traffic management plan with manual stop and go control will be in place during the felling operation to cause minimal disruption to the users.
The targeted trees will be made safe and cleared from the track. Clean up work is scheduled for a later date and the Council will advise when this is to take place.
