Alexandra to Clyde River Track tree removal programme
News
The Central Otago District Council has identified some trees for removal on the Alexandra to Clyde River Track.
The trees are located between Marshall Road and the 8km marker towards the Clyde end of the track.
Removal will now take place between Tuesday and Wednesday 25-26 October. This section of track will be closed between 8am and 4pm daily.
This was to have happened next week 6-8 October, however the school holidays were not taken into consideration, and the Council apologises for this oversight.
The trees are leaning over the track and likely to fall, therefore pose a safety hazard to users.
The targeted trees will be made safe and cleared from the track causing low impact to the surrounding landscape.
