Central Otago District Council with support from Ministry of Primary Industries and Ministry of Social Development has this week launched phase two of its Central Mahi campaign to help connect Central Otago employers with staff to get them through the busy summer months.
Phase one of the Central Mahi – It Hits Different campaign, launched early September, involved getting employers to sign up and create videos promoting the roles they had available.
Economic Development Manager Nick Lanham said phase two was about encouraging potential employees to visit the Central Mahi website https://centralotagonz.com/central-mahi, watch the employer-created videos (10 on the site currently with more expected), and register for support to secure a role.
“We’re asking job seekers who want to earn cash while also enjoying the sunshine and strike a great work-life balance to consider Central Otago for a working holiday,” said Mr Lanham. “We’ve got a diverse range of opportunities on offer – including hospitality, retail, horticulture and primary sector work.”
The campaign will primarily be marketed via social media targeting the lower South Island, with a display at November’s Otago Pop-Up Job Shop in Dunedin, and collaboration with some of the local high schools.
