Businesses’ feedback sought on kerbside collection service
Central Otago District Council (CODC) is surveying businesses this month to gauge how they feel about upcoming changes to the kerbside collection services and interest in a potential opt-out option.
Businesses will be contacted by email or letter this week with a two-week period for feedback via the online or paper survey.
CODC Infrastructure Manager Quinton Penniall said the invite to take the survey was being sent to approximately 700 businesses currently receiving the existing kerbside service within the district.
“We want to understand what services they are currently using and how that’s working, gauge how they feel about the new 4-bin service that will be offered from 1 July this year and ask whether they would take an opt-out option if this was made available. We’d really appreciate businesses taking 5 minutes to tell us what they think so Council can make a decision that is representative of the views of all our business service users.”
Any business who does not receive the survey can contact the waste@codc.govt.nz email address to be sent the link to the survey.
The survey will close on 27 February. Results will be taken to the April Council meeting for a decision to be made on the future of business’ waste management in Central Otago. The decision will made available via Council’s website.
