It's all systems go at the Lake Dunstan Water Supply plant at Clyde - well, nearly!
The CODC Water Services Team and Central Otago Mayor Tim Cadogan got the first taste of drinking water this week (23 May), as the new water supply begins to transition from the old system to the new.
The water team says people may see a little discolouration of the water during the transition over the next week or so; this is to be expected, due to a change in chlorine levels and/or a softening of their water, and the advice is to run the water to flush the pipes.
Clyde and Alexandra residents and visitors have water that meets the stringent New Zealand Drinking Water Standards, and that was something to celebrate for the CODC Water Services Team and Fulton Hogan in reaching this milestone in the $16.1 million project.
