​Wastewater network resilience gets a boost

A contract for the installation of backup generators for Central Otago District Council’s wastewater network has been awarded to Fulton Hogan.

The Council advertised for tenderers and three possible contenders were discussed at the public-excluded part of the Council meeting at Alexandra last Wednesday (19 July 2023).

Fulton Hogan was awarded the contract for the installation of standby generators in the wastewater network, including the Alexandra Wastewater Treatment Plant, Alpha Street Pump Station and Melmore Terrace Pump Station in Cromwell and the Tarbert Street Pump Station, and Bridge Hill Pump Station sites.

The project will start as soon as possible to guarantee increased resilience at these crucial pump station and wastewater treatment locations.
