To read more about what's happening in the Teviot go to the latest edition of the weekly Teviot Bulletin (Friday 29 September 2023).
Note: we have made a correction to the final sentence in Cr Feinerman's update, in bold at bottom.

Over the past seven years, I've worked alongside two amazing committees that are bringing about positive outcomes for our community.
The most anticipated news is the completion of the Ida MacDonald Roxburgh Swimming Pool; we're aiming for the grand opening at the beginning of December. I'll share more details closer to the time, including operating hours, costs, and anything else you're eager to know. If you haven't already, now's the time to grab a swimsuit and goggles! Projects like this take time, and I've been personally involved since 2017, while other committee members have been dedicated to seeing it happen for even longer. Thanks to their hard work and support from our funders, this dream has become a reality. Don't forget to like our Facebook page at facebook.com/roxburghpool to stay updated with the latest news.
It seems that good things come to those who wait and that they sometimes come at once. I am also involved in the Teviot Valley Walkways Committee. Our goal is to Improve the existing walking trails by upgrading infrastructure, enhancing signage, and ensuring accessibility. And we have been making good progress on this.
Grovers Hill track has now been planted out and a new zig zag track has been formed up to Frog’s Peak. The track along the top has been moved over to the river side so you get spectacular views looking down to the river. Signage will be up in time for the opening on Monday 9 October. We hope you enjoy getting back around Grovers Hill. It is a favourite of the walkways committee.
The river track is also getting some TLC. Recently, we have taken out some poplar trees near the pensioner flats in Leitholm Place to allow more sunlight funded by Council. This has enabled us to form a new track from the swimming pool to the Tweed Street bridge. It is a nice wide gravelled track that is a safe distance from the river and will be a great commute to the new pool. We plan to keep control of the weeds over the summer and then plant natives in the autumn. We are in the early stages of planning this. We would love the community to get behind this project and I welcome any ideas that you might have.
We also have plans to widen the river track from the swimming pool towards the Jedburgh St bridge; we are held up waiting for DOC consent for this project and will update you once we know when work will commence.
To round it off we have just received funding to upgrade the Horseshoe Bend Bridge Track. This will allow cyclists to bike out to the bridge, and it will be accessible and inclusive for all people including wheelchairs. We will give you an update on the timeframe.
