Clyde precinct work continues into Sunderland Street
“We understand the street closure is frustrating for business owners so we will be focused on completing the job as quickly as we can,” Mr Kirkman said. “During the closure, the project team will be working with affected premises to arrange continued pedestrian access to businesses and homes.”
As was the case on Holloway Street last winter, the Council will place signs up to direct visitors and customers as required.
Spring will see the return to one lane and a traffic light system until the remaining work is finished. All work, cordons and cones will be gone by summer.
“We are looking forward to the time when we can fully open up Clyde and show it off to the world in its full upgraded glory.
"Many, many thanks to the ongoing patience and cooperation of the business owners and people of Clyde who have put up with a lot of inconvenience to future-proof their town. It will be a proud day when they can show it off to the district and visitors.”
