The Vincent Community Board appointed a new Chair following
an extraordinary meeting held in Alexandra yesterday (Thursday 7 November).
Jayden Cromb was elected as Chair and replaces Mayor Tamah
Alley, the previous Chair, who was elected by councillors to take over the
mayoralty until the 2025 Local Government elections following the resignation
of former Mayor Tim Cadogan.
Cromb, a sixth-generation Central Otago resident and father
of three, has over seven years of experience in the social service sector and a
strong commitment to his community. He currently chairs The Terrace School
Board of Trustees and is actively involved in the governance of several local
charities.
“I have enjoyed the last two years as Deputy Chair and am
honoured to step into the role of Chair. I look forward to continuing to serve
the Vincent community and ensuring that the board plays its role as the voice
of our communities,” said Cromb.
In a related decision, Dr Roger Browne has been nominated and
elected as the new Deputy Chair, replacing Cromb in this role.
The board congratulates both Cromb and Browne on their new
appointments and looks forward to their leadership as they continue to advocate
for and represent the interests of the Vincent community.
