Extraordinary meeting of Council to finalise LTP documents this Friday
The Central Otago District Council will be meeting on Friday to finalise the upcoming Long-term Plan (LTP) budget and consultation document.
The purpose of the extraordinary meeting is to update councillors on the amendments made to the draft LTP document and development contributions in the past week.
Since the draft consultation document was adopted by Council on 29 January 2025, further internal checks revealed there were errors in the Three Waters budget and staff also amended the budgets to reflect the recent changes brought about by the new water contracts for water reticulation and waste/water treatment facilities.
This had contributed to the proposed rates rise in this year’s LTP increasing from a 11.63% to 14.03%.
The meeting will be held this Friday (14 February 2025) at 12.30pm in Ngā Hau e Whā, William Fraser Building, 1 Dunorling Street, Alexandra.
Council’s Draft LTP consultation document contains a list of proposed items for community feedback during March-April:
- Changes to volumetric water charges
- Divesting some of community halls and facilities
- Taking over running Ida MacDonald Roxburgh Pool Punawai Ora
- Closing Alexandra outdoor pool
- Additional Support for Manuherekia Valley Community Hub
- Supporting a Supercars championship event at Highlands Motorsport Park
- Giving grants to Artificial Turf at Maniototo Area School and Dunstan High School.
