I grew up in Central Otago leaving briefly to study Social Services in Dunedin. Summer and I are fortunate enough to be raising our own whānau here.
I come to this role with experience as a former chair of the Alexandra Council of Social Services and Alexandra and Districts Youth Trust, and current Presiding Member of The Terrace School. I am excited to be able to bring a new perspective representing the views and voices of the next generation and tangata whenua to this very experienced board.
We face an uncertain future with changes to local government, environmental sustainability, and housing availability. I believe that we must be bold, innovative, future focused, and when necessary, make the tough decisions even if they may not be the most popular. These changes also come with great opportunities, so now is the time to look forward and build the future that we want. By bringing Local Government, Iwi, social services, NGO's, and businesses together we can achieve just about anything this community puts its mind to.
This is my first term on the Vincent Community Board and I am excited about what lies ahead.

I live in Alexandra with Wendy, my wife of 50 years.
Until my retirement in 2007 I was a senior lecturer at Massey University. I have a PhD in electronic engineering. Retirement gave me the opportunity to pursue my deeper concerns - climate change and loss of biodiversity.
In 2012, I established a native plant nursery at Clyde and this now supplies plants to many community projects. I have been busy planting species endemic to Central Otago.
The arts are an important aspect of my life. I am a keen cellist, playing principal cello with the Central Otago Regional Orchestra. I run the Creative Writers Circle and am the chair of the Central Otago District Arts Trust.
I believe in the value and importance of life-long learning. In support of this I am a trustee of Central Otago REAP, which supports learning throughout our district. I also help run the Alexandra U3A.
Central Otago is a wonderful part of the world and I enjoy tramping and mountain biking around our exciting landscape.

I have lived in Alexandra for 59 years, married to Anita for 35 years and I am a father of two children.
I am the owner of Sub Par Golf Limited and the Manager of the Alexandra Golf Club and the Alexandra Rugby Club.
I am the Secretary of the Central Otago Charity Golf Classic having raised thousands of dollars for different local organisations.
Having a strong sporting background in rugby, golf and cricket and also a lot of local business knowledge, I believe I can listen and understand the needs of the Vincent community and I will also act on those needs.

I live in Clyde with my wife Christine.
I have coached at Clyde Rugby Football Club, am President of Central Otago Wakatipu Cycling Club, a committee member of the Alexandra Clyde Business Group, Chair of the Leaning Rock Village Inc and on the Promote Dunstan Committee.
Previously I was employed by Rabobank as National Succession Planning Manager and I worked closely with people in situations with high stakes.
Central Government is mandating change on scale that surpasses the late 1980s. Managing our water and roading assets, and housing affordability are the issues we must retain control over to provide for our growing communities’ diverse needs.
My collaborative approach will harness collective knowledge and resources to enable robust decision making. Honest communication needs to focus people’s energy on solutions.
Vincent community has talented people and a great story to tell. Balancing economic growth to enhance our environment and benefit our wider community is my challenge.

I have lived, worked and played in Central Otago for 30 years. My partner Christine and I enjoy this community and its people.
I am probably best known as the event manager for the Alexandra Blossom Festival. This role brings me into contact with people across our wonderful region.
We live in a rapidly developing and changing community, a district that is facing many challenges. It is a privilege to represent the people of Central Otago on Council and I undertake to always listen to your concerns, share your thoughts and discuss your views.
I have represented the people of this region for over five terms on Council. I have chaired the Vincent Community Board and look forward to working alongside newly elected members of Council and Community Board as we look to the next three years of local government.
As I continue in this role, I trust my contribution will add value to the Council and as a team we will all work towards making "our place" even better.

Central Otago has been home to me for 23 years. Originating from Waiheke Island I ventured South to Otago University and never went back. My husband Andrew and I farm at Matakanui Station in Omakau. We have three teenage children.

I am widely involved in the community, Chair of Central Otago Health Inc., Central Otago A & P Association, NZ Wool Classers Association, Charitable Trusts. I believe strongly in giving back and are constantly amazed and humbled at the level of community service from the residents in our district - this is part of our special character for Central Otago.
This is my second term on Council and the first on the Vincent Community Board.

Previously Associate and Practice Manager in a local accounting firm for 31 years, Accounting Manager in the gold mining industry and now owner of a funeral business covering Central Otago and Lakes District, I understand issues facing our ratepayers from differing perspectives.
I love Central Otago and look forward to being part of the decision making that maximises opportunities for growth, paves the way for our people to grasp opportunities, and protects this perfect place we call home, a place we and our families can live, work and retire for our lifetimes.
I have previous experience on Council and Community Board, and the Central Lakes Trust, and I welcome discussion with ratepayers who have concerns in the community.
