The Community Bike Ambassador course is off to a flying start, with eight people taking part in the first session held last Saturday (10 August 2024), in Alexandra.
Central Otago District Council Road Safety Advisor Chris ‘Foggie’ Foggin was thrilled with the response.
“It was great to get a mix of people who cycle for wellbeing and fun, and those who run a business around their passion for cycling.”
The course number had been set at 12. The four people who were not able to attend on Saturday will get a catch-up day next Wednesday (21 August), ready to join session two on Saturday 31 August. Pictured in group photo:

The initiative is part of the Council’s road safety Wheels Up campaign.
